Jesus and the Kingdom of God

Date of talk:
Sunday, 11 March 2012
Series:
Preacher:
Andrew Simpkins
Bible verse:
Luke 4:16-21, Isaiah 61

On Sunday we took a break from our "Heroes of Faith" series. Instead we focused on The Kingdom of God as expressed in Isaiah 61. We saw how the Kingdom of God is the key message of Jesus and the early church and remains our key message today. It is a message that proclaims the Kingdom of God including Salvation, Forgiveness, Peace, Joy, Comfort, Healing and God's presence. It is entered through Jesus' death on the cross and is lived out in the power of the Holy Spirit.

This Wednesday we have the third of our "Enjoying more of God the Holy Spirit" at 7:30pm at Starley house. I have not set questions for small groups this week as I want to encourage as many of us as possible to come along on Wednesday night.  If you have not yet managed to come along to one of these meetings we want to encourage you to make every effort to join us this week. During the past two meetings we have enjoyed some terrific times in God's presence - those who have been before will need no further encouragement to come again!
