During the last week we have had our week of prayer. This started on Sunday 8th January with a look at the importance of prayer, and our biblical encouragement to persevere in it through the story of Jacob wrestling with God. Over five evenings we looked at Colossians 3:1 - 4:6 focusing on:
| Theme | Passage | Key area | Evening |
|---|---|---|---|
| Holy/Set apart | 3:1-10a, 12-15 | In Christ, think on heavenly things, how to behave as a result | Sunday |
| Unity | 3:10b-11 | Racial, social | Monday |
| Meetings | 3:16-17. 4:2-4 | Value of teaching, worship, prayer | Tuesday |
| Community & Family | 3:18-4:1 | Family life and work life | Thursday |
| Outreach | 4:5-6 | Evangelism | Friday |
On Sunday morning we took a brief look at Isaiah 61 and our history and thought through some of the things that we had been praying for during the week. Particularly we started to look at our make up as a church areas where we do not reflect the majority of the population of the city. In the evening we joined with other churches in at the cathedral in order to pray more widely for the city.
1. Have you found it easy or difficult to join us in praying? What could you do to help with this?
2. What areas has God particularly spoken to you about during this past week
