Grace: Part four

Date of talk:
Sunday, 28 August 2011
Preacher:
Tim Gordon
Bible verse:
Titus 2:13-14

On Sunday we finished our current series where we have been looking at the grace of God from Titus 2:11-14.

This week we looked at how grace gives us hope for the future, with a particular focus on the first few words of vv.13 "waiting for the blessed hope".

Firstly we looked at how this blessed hope is "the completion of our salvation", then we examined how "waiting for" this blessed hope is an active thing, requiring us to do something.

We also saw how we can look forward to this blessed hope because of Jesus and what he has achieved for us by redeeming us, and finally, because we have been shown grace this motivates us to do good works now as we wait (look for) the blessed hope.

Small group questions:
- Spend some time sharing what you have enjoyed, learnt or seen revealed during our series on grace from the last four weeks.
- How does thinking about that day (when Jesus returns) affect the way you live today?
- How can we ensure our good works are fuelled by grace, not a desire to be loved by God?

Have a great time enjoying the grace of God, forever!
