Raised and seated with Christ

Date of talk:
Sunday, 16 July 2017
Simon Brown
Bible verse:
Ephesians 2:4-9

We looked at Ephesians 2v4-9 on Sunday, especially at what it means in v4-6 that “God made us alive together with Christ and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus”. After acting out what this means we looked at some of the implications this has for our identity, liberty, authority, proximity (to God) and eternity.

For discussion:
  1. What most impacted you from the talk on Sunday?
  2. I said that Christians now have two “addresses" - e.g. “in Ephesus and in Christ” (1v1) What does it mean to you to be “in Christ” and “in Coventry”?
  3. Paul uses the term “heavenly places” five times in Ephesians (1v3, 1v20-21, 2v6, 3v10, 6v12) Spend some time looking at these verses and discussing how they apply to you.
