Church Weekend Away

We're very excited about this great opportunity to spend time together from Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th June 2017, hanging out, having fun and (most importantly) building community together!

Why should I come on the Church Weekend Away?

The Church Weekend Away is an excellent opportunity to strengthen existing friendships and start new ones; in fact we are specifically gearing this weekend to building community with one another! However there will also be ample opportunity to chill out and relax – it’s not all about the activities and the taking part! If you are at all unsure about whether you would like to come and would like to know more, either speak to someone who went last time, or contact the office and we will do our best to answer any questions or concerns you may have.

Where is the Church Weekend Away?

We will be staying at Cefn Lea, a Conference Centre and Holiday Park near Newtown, Powys (mid Wales). It is 100 miles away from Coventry, a journey which will take about 2.5 hours by car (plus traffic) – according to google!

How will I get there?

If you haven’t got your own transport, speak to your small group and community group first. If you still haven’t got transport, contact the office. The nearest train station is Newtown in Powys which is 6 miles away.

What are the accommodation options?

You can choose between a standard or en suite chalet (each with 4-6 beds per room), or bringing your own tent or caravan. More details on each of these options are on the Cefn Lea website (cefnlea.co.uk). Prices for each of these options are below. All accommodation will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

What are the catering options?

Cefn Lea offer catered for (breakfast and lunch on Saturday and Sunday) and self-catering options. We will be providing a light supper on Friday evening and something special on Saturday evening! Prices are below.

What if I would like my food provided, but I have a special diet?

Cefn Lea can provide for those needing a special diet for a 5% surcharge (on the catering charge). Please make sure that the office is aware of this when you book.

Do I need to bring my own bed linen?

Bed linen, duvet covers and towels are NOT provided, but can be hired for an extra cost of £4 per set for bed linen and £2.50 per towel. If you would like to hire these, please make sure you select that option on the booking form.

Can I share a chalet with my friends?

When you complete the booking form, there is an option to add your sharing preference. We will try to accommodate all choices, but we cannot guarantee that this will be possible. Families with children will be provided with their own room.

What is there to do at Cefn Lea?

Plenty!! Cefn Lea is set in over 300 acres of beautiful countryside providing ample opportunity for recreation including mountain walks, forest trail, nature reserve, 3 tennis courts, pitch and putt, crazy golf, frisbee golf and children's play areas. We are also busy planning and putting together lots of activities and fun things to do as a church.

What if I booked, but now I can't come?

Please let the office know as soon as possible! A full refund will be available as long as you let us know by 11th May at the latest.

We have done our best to try and ensure that this weekend is as financially accessible as possible, with plenty of different options catering to different budgets. If you have any further questions about pricing, please contact the office. Please note that there are no longer any Leisure Homes available, although there are plenty of Standard Chalets!
