The Alpha Course is for anyone looking to find out more about the Christian faith. It offers a rare opportunity to ask the big questions in life.
The course contains a series of short talks: Who is Jesus? Why did Jesus die? Why and how should I read the Bible? Why and how should I pray? What is the Holy Spirit? Does God heal today? What about the church?
Alpha is for everyone, particularly those interested in investigating Christianity, newcomers to the church, new Christians, or those wishing to re-acquaint themselves with the basics.
“I think Alpha is a great opportunity to learn about Christianity and to think through the answers to some of the biggest questions in life.”
A typical evening will start with everyone enjoying a home-cooked meal together. This is followed by a talk concerning an aspect of what it means to be a Christian, given by a member of the church. After each talk there is plenty of opportunity for discussing any issues or questions that you might have. Alpha is a place where all questions are valid. If there is no talk on an area that concerns you, there will still be time and space to discuss it.
Whether you want to investigate the existence of God, are concerned about what happens after death or have particular questions that you would like to discuss, this course will take you right back to the basics of the Christian faith.
The next Alpha course will start in October 2013. More details will follow nearer the time.
The course is free to attend and includes a meal each week. For more information, or if you are interested in coming along please contact email@example.com.
